Deb Tolman

Research

Debbie Tolman has extensive training in plant nutrition, economics, and environmental education, receiving graduate training from North Carolina State University, Virginia Tech University, and Texas A&M University. She recived her Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and Geography at Portland State University. This synthesized years of research in vegetation and systems dynamics in the dissertation Environmental Gradients, Community Boundaries, and Disturbance: The Darlingtonia Fens of Southwestern Oregon. Her research has appeared in numerous peer-reviewed and popular journals, and her dissertation was recently published in book form by VDM Publishers (click to order).

Debbie's research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Mountaineers Foundation, in addition to various local and small-scale funding sources.
